Build Modern, Sustainable WooCommerce Stores on Gutenberg Foundation
In this WooCommerce course, you’ll master a completely new webshop-building methodology built on WordPress’s new foundations: block-based design, Full Site Editing, and component-based thinking. Instead of classic PHP templates, you’ll get a simpler, more transparent approach that combines well with your existing knowledge.
Throughout the course, we’ll build a full-featured online store using Gutenberg and FSE foundations. Step by step, I’ll show you how to leverage WooCommerce’s capabilities and integrate modern, scalable design systems.
WooCommerce has so many built-in features you probably haven’t even heard of. Now you can learn and apply them through real examples in a working online store.
The training provides not only practical but also theoretical foundations. You’ll understand how Gutenberg-based templates are structured, what systems they use, and how to customize them with minimal coding knowledge. You’ll also receive a custom-developed “starter” block template that you can immediately deploy in future projects.
This new approach allows you to spend less time on technical tasks and more time on content creation. Plus, it’s not just useful for developers and designers—future content managers (assistants or administrators) will also have a much easier job. No more “only the developer can modify this.”
Who Is This For?
This course is primarily designed for professionals who build online stores professionally and need a toolkit that provides exceptional flexibility and efficiency without external dependencies.
Web Designers seeking faster, cleaner solutions for building pages.
Developers who want to leave PHP template routines behind for a simpler approach.
Marketers who want to create quick campaign pages without plugin overload.
Professional Toolkit for Modern WooCommerce Stores
You’ll receive a complete developer kit including a modern, block-based WordPress template, a real product database filled with actual data, and a practical mini-course showing you step-by-step how to build easily manageable online stores.

Real-World Practice: 200-Product Database
During the course, we’ll build a pet supply store based on a 200-product real database, so you can try everything in a live environment. The variety of products (variations, attributes, tags) allows you to practice every important step of webshop building in realistic situations.
WooCommerce Template on FSE Foundation
The package includes a pre-built complete WooCommerce block template covering every important page of an online store—homepage, categories, product page, cart, etc. Every element—hero section, CTA, gallery, product list, sale box—is independently editable, movable, and reusable. Layouts are optimized for the most common webshop structures with built-in filtering options and intelligent product grouping.

Intensive Mini-Course
A comprehensive guide that helps you fully understand WooCommerce’s built-in features and leverage block-based template capabilities. I’ll walk you through the most useful functions and show you how to work efficiently with block-based templates. You’ll master the fundamentals of creating design systems and learn how to combine Gutenberg’s capabilities with simple coding techniques.
Why Learn Gutenberg-Based Store Building?
You get a fully customizable foundation that’s not only fast and optimized but also developer-friendly. This approach allows you to freely shape your projects without compromise.
Native Solution
Gutenberg and Full Site Editing are WordPress’s built-in toolkit. No more child theme labyrinths or template lock-in. You get complete control over structure, design, and functionality. Gutenberg-based pages use fewer resources, load faster, and provide smoother user experiences.
Component-Based Logic
Block-based editing isn’t just visually simple—it’s systemically thoughtful. No more template copying or custom CSS headaches—every block is responsive, reusable, and globally controlled via theme.json. Whether landing page, promo block, or custom layout—everything builds from the same system, consistently.
Coding Freedom Preserved
Although visual editing is powerful, nothing excludes developer control. Classic PHP hooks, shortcodes, and filters remain available. When deeper customization is needed, you can fine-tune at the HTML/CSS/PHP level. The structure stays clean, maintainable, and flexibly adjustable to client needs.
How Does This Fit Your Learning Path?
Like any visual page editor, FSE makes work easier. But if you’re still getting familiar with WooCommerce structure, template hierarchy isn’t entirely clear, or you’re just getting comfortable with hooks, it might feel a bit foggy at first. The course can be completed without prior knowledge—you’ll be able to build a webshop following the videos—but it’s worth understanding the basics.
Feel free to dive in even if you’re just starting with webshop building, but if you’re already experienced with classic WooCommerce, you’ll especially notice how much faster and clearer this approach is.
Practical Benefits Worth Switching For
- For webshops, you need to create many views responsively—layout creation with built-in structure-building solutions and blocks is much simpler than traditional PHP approaches.
- Content assembly is easier since you see visually what you’re doing. Page builder component benefits apply, but without unnecessary style elements, leaving clean code behind.
- Thanks to built-in layout technology, different views are responsive by default. Only minimal additional code is needed for proper formatting.
- No more struggling with nested selectors and complex targeting. Pre-defined style elements allow targeted coloring, sizing, or formatting at multiple levels. WooCommerce blocks can be separately formatted in theme.json.
- Familiar hooks and functions work the same way. If you have coding experience or previously used PHP templates, additional functions integrate easily via shortcodes or appropriate hooks.
- Gutenberg-based development encourages consistent, modular thinking. Instead of chaotically coding template files, you work in a centralized system resulting in faster, more stable long-term operation.
Frequently Asked Questions About Block-Based Editing
Is Gutenberg a page builder?
Not exactly—Gutenberg is a block-based content editor. While it may be hard to understand the difference at first, you’ll feel it during use. Gutenberg’s “layout” blocks (columns, grids, rows) allow you to nest blocks, making the editing experience highly flexible. However, it lacks the classic drag-and-drop experience of traditional page builders because it’s actually a structure-planning tool focused on creating flexible content areas rather than directly assembling visual page appearance. (I actually consider this one of its biggest advantages.)
Is developer background required?
No deep coding knowledge is required. The course material can be mastered with basic technical skills, covering everything from block editing to template customization in detail.
Why switch to block-based solutions?
Block-based architecture is WordPress’s future. It’s easier to customize, provides faster load times, and better aligns with modern web trends than traditional solutions. The admin interface’s simplicity makes it easy even for those without technical knowledge, such as virtual assistants or marketers. The transition thus simplifies daily work.
Can I use the block editor with PHP template architecture?
Yes, you can combine the block editor with PHP-based template architecture. This means you can continue using traditional WordPress template files (like header.php, footer.php) while using the block editor for content management. I’ll specifically cover this approach during the course.
I already completed the WordPress Developer course. How is this different?
This course focuses on block-based WordPress templates and deeper understanding of the Gutenberg editor. You won’t learn classic PHP template structures here, but rather modern block-based solutions and leveraging theme.json capabilities. If you have further questions or attended previous courses and aren’t sure how this fits your learning path, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!
